Asylum

The United States is a safe haven for refugees seeking protection from persecution in their home country. Currently, the U.S. offers protection to refugees who either have suffered abuse or fear they will be persecuted due to their race, religion or membership in a particular group, or because of their political beliefs.

Our team at The Díaz Firm, PLLC, has over 30 years of experience assisting client who seek asylum. We understand that needing refuge and being denied it is a frightening time. When you work with us, we will fight for your case – and your future here. We hold your hand every step of the way.

Am I Eligible For Asylum?

If the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) finds you eligible for asylum, then you may be permitted to stay in the United States. We can help you apply for asylum. It is required to file Form I-589, an application for asylum and withholding of removal status. These forms are required within one year of your arrival in the United States.

You are allowed to include your spouse and children who are in the United States on your asylum application or at any time before a final decision is made on your case. However, your children must be under the age of 21 and unmarried to be included in your application for asylum.

If you think you qualify for asylum or have any questions, reach out to our team today. During a consultation with one of our lawyers, you can learn more about how we can help you. Call 512-980-0885 or reach out via our online form.
